When performing aesthetic facial surgery, it is not only the medical result that is important, but also that the scarring is as fine and inconspicuous as possible. To support healing in a natural way, I use a fibrin glue for certain operations – an innovative, gentle and very well-tolerated method of wound care.
What is fibrin glue?
Fibrin glue is a biological tissue adhesive that is produced from components of the body’s own blood coagulation (fibrinogen and thrombin). It mimics the body’s natural healing process and thus promotes gentle, safe and aesthetically pleasing wound healing.

How does it work?
The adhesive is applied thinly to the suture or the treated area at the end of the operation. Within a few seconds, a fine, stable tissue film is formed that holds the wound edges together, protects them and supports healing. The adhesive degrades completely on its own, without leaving any residue.
Is fibrin glue safe?
Yes – the fibrin glue is obtained from specially prepared, tested components, is very well tolerated, biodegradable and has been used successfully in surgery for many years. Allergic reactions are extremely rare.
