They are the basic building blocks of DNA and RNA and play an important role in the transmission of genetic information. In aesthetic medicine, polynucleotides are used as biostimulants to stimulate skin regeneration and improve skin quality.  <\/p>\n<p><strong>What are polynucleotides?<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; Polynucleotides are long chains of nucleotides, the building blocks of DNA and RNA.<br \/>\n&#8211; In medicine, they are often referred to as &#8220;bioactivators&#8221;, as they stimulate the skin&#8217;s natural regeneration processes.<br \/>\n&#8211; The polynucleotides used in aesthetic treatments are usually obtained from fish DNA and purified to ensure a high level of compatibility.<\/p>\n<p>A nucleotide is like a small building block that makes up our genetic information (DNA or RNA).<br \/>\nYou can think of it like a Lego brick. Many of these Lego bricks (nucleotides) are attached to each other &#8211; and from this our DNA is created, i.e. the blueprint for our body. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Each nucleotide consists of three parts:<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class='one_third'>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Sugar (a kind of energy source),\nphosphate group (like the &#8220;glue&#8221; between the stones),\nbase (one of four letters: A, T, G or C &#8211; these letters determine our genetic code).\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<div class='two_third'>\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-7269\" src=\"https:\/\/www.almeida-aesthetic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/strukturformel-300x202.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"460\" height=\"310\"><\/p>\n<div class='two_third et_column_last'>\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<\/div><div class='clear'><\/div>\n<p><strong>Areas of application in aesthetic medicine:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Skin rejuvenation: Polynucleotides promote collagen and elastin production, improve skin elasticity and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.<\/li>\n<li>Improve skin quality: They increase the skin&#8217;s moisture retention and protect against harmful environmental influences.<\/li>\n<li>Stimulation of cell regeneration: Polynucleotides act deep in the skin and stimulate the regeneration of damaged cells.<\/li>\n<li>Treatment of scars and stretch marks: Its regenerative properties can also be helpful in the treatment of scars and stretch marks.<\/li>\n<li>Hair growth: Polynucleotides can also be used on the scalp to stimulate hair growth.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Mode of action:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>  Polynucleotides stimulate the fibroblasts, which are responsible for the production of collagen and elastin.<\/li>\n<li>They improve microcirculation and promote the natural regeneration of the skin.<\/li>\n<li>  They also have an antioxidant effect and protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Treatment and risks:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Treatment is usually carried out by injecting a polynucleotide gel into the skin.<\/li>\n<li>The treatment is considered safe and well tolerated, but temporary redness, swelling or bruising may occur at the injection sites.<\/li>\n<li>It is important to consult an experienced doctor to determine the correct dosage and form of treatment and to minimize possible risks.<\/li>\n<li>If there is an allergy or hypersensitivity to fish protein, e.g. to crustaceans, mussels, fish, caviar, material obtained from fish should not be injected without testing!
