Magnesium – beware of ops!

Magnesium – important, but with caution before operations

Many people take magnesium to support muscle function, against cramps or for general relaxation. What is hardly known, however, is that magnesium can have a blood-thinning effect.

This means that it can reduce the blood’s ability to clot and thus increase the tendency to bleed.
This can be particularly relevant before surgical or aesthetic procedures – such as wrinkle treatments, eyelid lifts or liposuction.
Excessive blood thinning increases the risk of secondary bleeding and bruising (haematomas) and can delay wound healing.

Our advice:

Please always inform us about all medicines, dietary supplements and herbal preparations that you take regularly.
This is the only way we can optimally plan the treatment and – if necessary – recommend discontinuing magnesium a few days before the procedure.
Together we ensure your safety and a beautiful, complication-free result.
