Lower eyelid correction
Lower eyelid correction is as difficult as the upper eyelid correction is easy.
For this operation, carried out under local anaesthetic, or on request under a general anaesthetic, the surgeon makes the incision around 1 mm under the eyelashes so that the scar is not subsequently visible.
Excess skin, and above all, the fatty tissue which causes the so-called bags, is carefully removed.
In individual cases, a laser may also be used. The wound is subsequently closed with the finest stitches.
For subsequent care, the same recommendations hold as for upper eyelid correction.
In order to avoid the occurrence of so-called “watery eyes” the recommendations must be
observed as carefully and precisely as possible.
Upper and lower eyelid corrections may also be carried out simultaneously. In this case, we recommend a general anaesthetic or twilight sleep.
For post-operative treatment, the same recommendations hold as for upper eyelid correction.
