Laser technology
Laser technology is a methodology used in the area of skin smoothing and is more costly, but gentle and can be used over the entire face.
If the entire face is treated, the intervention takes place under general anaesthetic. An experienced anaesthetist monitors the patient during the operation. After a complete facial treatment under a general anaesthetic, a stay as an inpatient is necessary for the monitoring of the healing process.
If only particular parts of the skin are treated, the operation may be carried out under local anaesthetic on an outpatient basis.
For laser treatment, prior preparation is necessary, which must be initiated four weeks before the operation. During this period, the areas of the skin to be treated are premedicated with special ointments on a daily basis.
On the day of the operation, they are then removed by laser. In order to support the healing phase, an ointment is spread on and a film applied which may be removed after several days.
During the healing phase, the patient may not smoke or consume alcohol. It is imperative to avoid direct exposure to sunlight and during the first weeks after the operation, the skin must be protected with a special cream with a sun protection factor, since during the initial phase, it is still very sensitive.
The result is nevertheless worth the effort: a durably beautiful and smooth skin which is free from irregularities, scarring and blemishes.
