Ear correction

Protruding (jug ears) or unaesthetic ears bother children as much as adults.

An ear correction can change the position, size and form of the ears.

The operation is normally carried out on adults under local anaesthetic but for children under general anaesthetic.

The incision is made on the rear side of the ear so that no visible scars subsequently remain.

The newly modelled ear is embedded with a soft ointment patch and for around eight days, the patient wears a protective form-retaining head bandage.

The surgical operation lasts from 45 to 60 minutes and can be carried out on an outpatient basis.

After removing the bandages we recommend wearing a head band for four weeks to avoid involuntary changes to the achieved form of the ear.

After this period, the ear will have healed completely and swelling will have disappeared.
